Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP) recruits grade 6 learners from Gauteng (Johannesburg and Pretoria) and the Eastern Cape (East London and Grahamstown). Successful applicants will be placed in a year-long bridging programme that seeks to improve learners’ abilities in English, Mathematics, Science and Technology. The Scholar Development Programme consists of Saturday Classes, Academic camps and Personal Development Workshops.
At the end of the Scholar Development Programme, learners are assessed in all learning areas, and a selected number will be awarded the ultimate prize, an SSP scholarship to attend one of South Africa’s best high schools. Placement will be made at one of SSP’s partner schools in Johannesburg, Pretoria, East London and Grahamstown.
The SSP high school scholarship is a 5-year programme that is infused with extra-curricular leadership and personal development activities usually taking place on Saturdays throughout the scholar’s high school career. It is a rigorous programme aimed at developing future leaders in all aspects of South African society.
